Future Firepit

I just discovered that Blogger and Picassa will not let me put more than one photo in each post. That is only if you use the integration between the applications. This is where the firepit will be. Its hard to tell in this photo, but the level of the firepit will be a good 4-5 feet below the grade of the rest of the backyard.

This will create a terrific private spot, and will be surrounded by trees and foliage, hopefully creating a true "in the woods" feel. The blue line shows where the retaining wall will be built.

Future Patio

This picture shows the outline of the "kidney shaped" patio. This will be great, lots of rooms for table, chairs, grilling, and more! You can see the original "stock" patio that the builder installed. This will be ripped out and disposed of:

Work has begun!

Finally after a longer wait that I expected, work has been started today. It is now clear that there is no way that it will be completed by the end of October as we agreed. Today it is actually snowing up here, and cold, and windy. But the bobcat is out in the yard, and they are working at clearing out some of the weeds and beginning to dig out the fire pit area.
